MEMBERSHIP

Membership of the Gabungan consists of seven categories. A fellowship may be awarded at the discretion of the Council of the Gabungan to any Member for the outstanding work in the field of Information Technology. Membership for other categories is based on qualifications and relevant experience.

Membership Requirements,Prerequisite,Entrance Fee and Annual Subscription.

Fellow	-	50	120
Member	Shall be a person who holds a recognized Information and Communications Technology (ICT)- related academic degree or professional qualification acceptable to the Council and who has been employed in the Information and Communications Technology Industry at an Executive Level as in the following:(a) Basic Degree: at least 3 years experience;(b) Master Degree: at least 2 years experience; and(c) Doctorate Degree: at least 1 year experience,or a person who do not hold a recognized academic degree or professional qualification as above but has been employed in the Information and Communications Technology Industry at an executive level for not less than seven years in activities considered by the Council to be relevant to the objects of the Gabungan.	50	60
Associate	Shall be Shall be a person who do not qualify to be a Member under 1.3 but who holds a recognised Information Communications Technology (ICT)- related academic degree or professional qualification acceptable to the Council and who has been employed in the Information and Communications Technology Industry at an executive level for not less than one year, or a person who do not hold a recognized academic degree or professional qualification but has been employed in the Information and Communications Technology Industry at an executive level for not less than five years in activities considered by the Council to be relevant to the objects of the Gabungan..	50	40
Provisional Associate	Shall be a person who do not qualify to be an Associate under 1.4 but who has been employed in the Information and Communications Technology Industry at an executive level in activities considered by the Council to be relevant to the objects of the Gabungantd>	50	30
Affiliate	Shall be a person interested in Information Technology who otherwise do not meet the qualification requirements for membership under othercategories of membership.	50	30
Student	Shall be a person who is a full time student or a person undergoing a course of Instruction leading to a professional qualification acceptable to the Council and who is not over 25 years of age.	10	20
Life Member	This category of membership is opened to existing Fellows, Members or those who qualify to be Members. The Life Members are exempted from paying the annual subscription and enjoy the full benefits of membership. The one-time payments for admission as a Life Member are as follow:(a) for those below 55 year of age, the fee is RM 1,000; and(b) for those who are 55 or more years of age, the fee is RM 500.	-	-

RECIPROCAL MEMBERSHIP

The Gabungan has reciprocal membership arrangements with the Australian Computer Society, The British Computer Society and The Singapore Computer Society.

This means that if you are a MNCC member and if you apply to be a member of the ACS, BCS or SCS respectively and if admitted, you are entiltled to a 20% discount on the annual subscriptions of the stated bodies. It works the other way too (e.g. ACS members becoming MNCC members).

APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP

Prepare the Membership Application Form carefully providing complete details. You can either print out the form as provided or fill it in and submit it online. If you submit the form online, you will have to send the required supporting documents and remittance to the address given below.
Attach certified copies of certificates of academic/professional qualifications and testimonials.
Attach a certified statements giving details of professional computing experience including positions held, projects undertaken and other relevant experience.
Send the completed application form together with enclosures and the remittance to cover the entrance fee and annual subscription to :
